1. Start with a clean slate. Before you start painting, be sure to wash your walls (or any other surface you’ll be painting) with a mild soap and water solution. This will remove any dirt or grease that might be on the surface and help the paint adhere better.
2. Choose the right paint. When it comes to painting your home, it’s important to choose a high-quality paint. Not all paints are created equal! A higher-quality paint will not only look better, but it will also last longer.
3. Use painters tape. This is one of our favorite painting tips! Using painters tape will help you achieve clean lines and prevent paint from bleeding onto surfaces that you don’t want painted.
4. Paint in sections. When painting large areas, it’s best to work in smaller sections so that the paint doesn’t have a chance to dry before you’re able to spread it evenly.
5. Let the paint dry completely between coats. Depending on the type of paint you’re using, this could take anywhere from 2-8 hours. But trust us, it’s worth the wait!
