Last week, Two Dudes Painting Company had the privilege of participating in YWCA Lancaster’s first Walk a Mile In Her Shoes event to benefit the Sexual Assault Prevention & Counseling Center (SAPCC). SAPCC provides professional trauma focused counseling, medical and legal advocacy, and a 24-hour sexual assault hotline to victim survivors of sexual assault. All services are provided at no cost to them!
The Dudes have been long supporters of the Lancaster YWCA and their dedication to help eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace justice, freedom and dignity for all.
When we heard about this opportunity, we were thrilled to get involved. Our very own, Peter Barber took the lead in representing Two Dudes Painting Company in the walk and proudly took to the streets with about a hundred other participants. “It was incredible to see the number of men who came out and participated in this event,” said Peter. “Walking in heels was more difficult than I thought, and was a perfect way to get us all to think about the cause, raise awareness and take a stand against sexual violence.”
Together, the Dudes were able to raise $725, and were ecstatic to join the 61 other fundraisers in helping the Lancaster YWCA raise in total with sponsorships over $40,000 for SAPCC.
